about

I'm an aspiring writer of prose, both short and extended literary fiction, and nonfiction blogs, essays, reviews, articles and commentaries. In 2012 I graduated with distinction from a Bachelor of Arts (English Literatures, English Language and Linguistics) and a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Creative Writing) at the University of Wollongong, with a semester abroad at the University of East Anglia, UK, in 2011. I'm currently undertaking a Master of Creative Arts by Research in Creative Writing, for which I'm making my first attempt at a novella. I also work as a freelance editor, mostly on large submissions for tender.

I was born in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, and have moved back and forth between that city and Sydney throughout my life.

My favourite books include Arundhati Roy's The God of Small Things, Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient, John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, Tim Winton's Cloudstreet, David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas, and Markus Zusak's The Book Thief.

I've been with my girlfriend Matilda, also a writer, since October 2008.
